Going to look at WD45 Diesel, Would like to know what to look for as far as condition.
What are some pros and cons of said tractor ? The fellow that owns it says he hasn't
ran it in 2 years, motor looks to have some oil and fuel leaks!!!Any help is appreciated.
Thank You! DARRELL

If it hasn't been run in a few years,DO NOT try to start it, the fuel injection pump can stick from old fuel and the parts inside will break, and they are very expensive if available at all, as far as oil and fuel leaks, they can be expected on some thing that old, the Buda engine can be very expensive to repair if its tired, a nice 45 diesel will bring good money, but some times it takes a lot of money to make one useable.

If he GIVES it to you, it will still cost a fortune to overhaul the engine and fuel injection system. It may need an engine block, sleeves, and the cylinder head will be cracked. An absolute money pit !! The only one worse would be a D-19 turbo diesel !!

As Roger said, DO NOT turn the engine, remove the American Bosch PSB pump as is, where is. DO NOT EVEN SET THE TIMING! If the hydraulic head plunger is stuck from setting as most are, it WILL break just turning engine by hand. If a pump is sent as is, I've been able to save the head several times but not if the plunger is broken. If head is bad, good luck finding another as Ambac no longer has rebuilt heads available anymore.
