HAVE A WD45, SEC. NO. 208003-- WANT TO REMOVE BELT PULLEY , MANUAL SHOWS ONE WITH A HOLE IN FRONT WITH A NUT TO BE REMOVED, MY PULLEY HAs a grease fitting in that hole and a BOLT ON EACH SIDE OF IT AND A LONG SQUARE NOTCH IN THE SHAFT . HOW DO I GET IT OFF ?

There is a set screw with a locknut inborad of the frame rail just above the shaft that goes into the housing from the belt pulley Remove the set screw. If the hydraulic system is up to level you will get wet. And you will need a plug for the hole where the belt pulley assy. comes out. It is cup shaped sheet metal. When re installing the belt pulley you need to set the backlash using the series of different position holes on the inserted section of the belt pulley housing.

Were you wanting to take the Pulley off the spindle? It should not be too difficult if you take the nut off. It is a taper spindle and with a little pentatrating oil and some taps with a hammer should come right off. We used to take ours off and put a V-Belt pulley on for various needs. WE ran a cement mixer and once in a while ran the Milking Machine vacuum pump when the power was off. Also used it for a sprayer pump sometimes. Those tractors were sure handy to have?? Cleddy

Mark the position before taking it off and put it back where it was next time. No need to set it every time.

When I was young we had a WD-Allis with an belt pulley feature which allowed it to be engaged with a pull knob and the whole Assembly would spiral in to engage and could be Un-ingaged by pusing knob ir-Assembly spital out? I nevr was sure who made this feature and why we had it but it was handy. Just as easy as engaging the PTO Shaft. Maybe someone would know more about this little attachment. I assumed it might have been offered as a Allis-Chalmers Feature?? I'm sure it still laying around it a shed somewhere?? Cleddy
