Help needed to identify AC tow behind brush cutter

Good Morning Everyone,
I was lucky enough to pick up this tow behind brush cutter over the weekend from a guy a few towns over. It's a 6 foot cut with pneumatic tires on the rear. It appears to be in really good shape and she's built like a tank!! The gear box does seem to be leaking so I'd like to purchase new seals but I cannot find a data tag anywhere. Can anyone help me to identify the model of the brush cutter?

Thanks!

I'll put the photos in this time.... haha

Yes that's a 172. You are lucky to find one with the deflector chains up front. Are they in back as well?

I have a 172, mine has the gearbox fill plug drilled and tapped for a grease zerk. I'd do the same and just put a tube of gun grease in it and be done. Not sure AGCO would carry the seals for it anymore?

If you're going to fill with grease, use corn head grease. It's thinner and made for gearboxes.

Grandpa ruined a gearbox on the old dairy stirator for the milk tank. It leaked oil and the milk inspector wrote him up for the leaking oil. Grandpa drained the oil and pumped it full of grease. The gearbox went bad a couple months later... He couldn't get it full enough to cover all the gears.
That was a low speed gearbox, so maybe something running at 540 would heat up faster and melt the grease?

The manual which came with my model 172 shows these 3 seals:

504239 for gear box drive shaft

525978 for blade support shaft - lower

503549 for blade support shaft - upper
