I bought a D 14 Allis gas it does not have a battery in it it looks like its been rewired it has an alternator but I dont know if its a 6 V or 12 V system how can I tell theres no mark on the alternator where else can I lock thank you much

Any alternator installed on any D-14 would have to be 12 volts negative ground. There is no such thing as a 6 volt alternator.

But the coil says 6 V on it thats the only identifying MARK I could find also where are the drain plugs on this day 14 for the PTO also the
transmission and all the other oils this is 87 year old domino thank you ill send you a picture when its done its a pretty little thing

Coil might be 6 volts if it has a resistor ahead of it. If it doesn't have a resistor between the key switch and the coil the points won't last very long.

As DrAllis posted, does it have a resistor ahead of the coil in the wire from the switch? Resistor ahead of 6-volt coil is for a 12 volt system.

There are some 6-volt alternators out there, but it is unlikely you have one in my opinion. I believe that it is most likely 12 volt.

What is it for an alternator? Delco type? Internal or external regulator? If internal is the alternator a 1 or 3 wire? A Delco may have information stamped into the housing in the area right below/behind the adjusting bolt. Post a picture if you don't know.

You can get an OEM D14 Operator's manual for $15 to $20 on eBay. You should get one as a guide to servicing and maintenance as a start.
