Hi, I just got a D14 that has been sitting for a few years, I drained the oil (very little came out) replaced the oil and filter and put the drain plug back in. I leaks oil out of the drain plug, is there a seal that goes on the plug? Thoughts on getting it to seal better? thanks.

Should have a 7/8" sealing washer on the plug. Nylon soft copper or aluminum.

A parts store, equipment dealer, Truck shop, some hardware stores, are some places to check. Drain plug "gaskets" are common items and it is not Allis Chalmers specific. Even a fiber one is better than none, until you get one of the others.

thanks I will look into it. Second question, the tractor came with a New Idea loader that probably has the original fluid in it. What should I replace the
fluid with? Universal hydraulic fluid? thanks.

Assuming it is a self-contained loader with front pump driven from the crank.

You will get a number of opinions on this. It can use a straight hydraulic oil like AW32 or 46 depending on the temperatures you encounter. I use a UTHF that meets the AC 821 and JD J20C specs, rather than keeping another oil around for the couple "plain" systems I have. Your choice.
