Starting D19 diesel that's been sitting

Dad's D19 hasn't been started for about 10 years. Put a new battery in, new fuel, have not found new fuel filters yet... did bleed lines to the pump and pump is leaking fuel (pump needs rebuilt but ran fine)... turns over great but just not firing up yet... did try a "little" ether but still nothing??? Suggestions?

Did you try Baldwin Filters, they also make them for car Quest,i am sure they will have them for you,I would put in some diesel additive to absorb any moisture in there, good luck, but do not over treat it!

The AC filter numbers will cross to WIX, NAPA, and others. I don't remember the WIX numbers off hand.

Did you try bleeding the injector lines at the fittings on the injection nozzles while cranking? Do you have the fuel shut off the rightvway? Remember they are backwards from most; pulled to the rear is on. And after 10 years the pump may have some stuck internals and will need a rebuild.

Haven't tried cracking the lines at the injectors, I'll have to find someone to turn it over when I do that. Thanks... just started the search for filters, thanks, I'll try Napa Monday... And yes, the pump was leaking bad and needed a rebuild when I shut it down the last time... Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll need more help on this before I get it done. And yes, I've got the fuel shutoff in the right position :) been down that road before.

Save yourself a lot of time. Wrap a chain around the front axle and pull start it. You'll take a lot of life out of the starter the way you're going about it.

Well it's official... nothing coming out of the pump, cracked the line to the injectors and nothing... Gonna have to save up, wasn't quite preparred for that (old guy on fixed income don't ya know 🤠)... thanks for getting me this far. After I get the pump rebuilt I'll be on to the turbocharger and transmission. That'll take a little more saving up 🙄 oh well, it's just money.
