D-19 Power Steering Question

I have a 1974 D-19. Looking for the fill spot for adding power steering fluid. I think it's on top of the pump but not sure.

D-19's were made 1961 thru 1963 with maybe a few in early 64. Power steering oil fill is behind the grille screen. There is a 4 inch tall breather that you remove to fill. Do NOT fill full. Only about 1/2" over the gear you can see inside. Takes about any type of oil except 80/90 or motor oil. Probably needs an oil change anyway. 5 quarts approx..

Owned my D-19 for 46 years and always put ATF in it. Don't know why I guess the first time I

added some it looked like ATF

Dexron automatic transmission fluid is what they would have had from the factory. It was red in color. Oil was to be changed every year, so 46 times you should have changed it. Eventually Dexron has been replaced with trans/hydraulic fluid which is a little bit thicker and sure leaks a lot less. This modern oil can also be used in the transmission, hydraulic system and the power steering.
