tightening up slop in outer rear wheel splines

'earlier i posted asking for input on taking out rear wheel wobble, i decide to go with putting a spacer on and tightening up the nut and it worked, i had to buy 5 washers 2 1/8 id and 4 1/2 od. i cant see me needing all of them so if someone sends me there address in my e mqil ill send them one free of charge. (quoted from post at 18:15:24 08/02/21) what is the real fix new axles?
Robert, the "real fix" has been posted multiple times in the series of other posts you made on this subject.

Good used replacement parts is "the real fix". Hubs and/or axles.

GREAT JOB !! ...... i have no idea how WORN the splines were.. I have had similar wiggle and tightened up the nut WITH SPACERS and it worked GREAT.... Did you grind on the backside ?? If not, then your wear is NOT THAT BAD... You should be fine.. If the wheel bottomed out on the back side and you had to grind, then you had a little more wear.. Still GOOD... Only hub i have had to change was one that only had 50% of the splines left... It had a couple 16 penny nails driven into the gaps when i bought it !!

TIGHT on the nut is about 600 ft pounds... You need a 2-3 ft pipe wrench and STAND on the end of it.. bounce a little... If its TIGHT it makes all the difference for long life.... and jaack that tire up 2 inches off the ground.. transmission in neutral.. tire still rotates by hand without dragging on the inside lip ??.. GOOD !

And keep re-checking the torque on that nut every time you use the tractor and hopefully you will find one day it stayed tight and isn't working loose anymore. This is important to keep rechecking if you are to have any chance of success.

I TIGHTENED IT UP WITH WHEEL ON GROUND THEN JACKED UP TO SEE IF IT WAS TIGHT AND IT WAS, IF I HAVE WHEEL UP OFF GROUND AND TRANSMISSSION IN NEUTRAL WONT THE WHEEL TURN WHEN I TIGHTEN IT? ILL NEED TO GET BIGGER PIPE WRENCH

I READ THAT AGAIN , JACK UP TWO INCHES AND THEN CHECK FOR DRAG NOT TIGHTEN NUT SORRY I MISUNDERSTOOD EISREGARD PREVIOUSE POST

If you have the "slop" out of it, I think you can leave the tractor on the ground with it in LOW GEAR and the brakes set tight. Better get a long length of pipe to extend your pipe wrench leverage. I'm not sure you realize how tight 600 ft lbs really is.

600 ft pounds is 200 pounds of YOU standing on a pipe wrench ( pipe extension) 3 ft long... 3 x 200 = 600 ....... if your under 200 pounds you need a wrench between 3-4 ft long... Yes, with the tractor on the GROUND you can torque the nut.. With the tire OFF the ground, you are checking dragging in the rear flange ( groove).
