Model B hydraulic information

Yes, it is part of the PTO on the rear of the differential. Need to have the PTO engaged for hydraulics to work. Some PTOs had it and some didn't. And not all tractors had the PTO, there is a sheet metal cover for the back of the differential if they didn't.
 
While not form the get go but close. Many of the older hand cranks ones had hyds. High pressure low GPM pumps
 
The very early PTO housings had a circular opening with a plug, like a freeze plug to fill the hole. Later in production this site would be where the pump opening was engineered to go.
