Allis g axle

You have to. The brake drum is pressed on the shaft. You have to rig a puller to the inner end of the axle. Could have cast or stamped drums. They'll break or bend if you use a press.

Dont sound like an easy way maybe I should just figure out if I can tighten them up a little more cant be as difficult as they are on a D 17 Allis or oliver got to burn a pin off in order to get them out what a deal when you get a whole face full of stuff while youre digging the rat nest out from the bottom remember that

Sorry about the confusion I want to check the brakes and my question was do I have to pull the axle out of the housing or can I take the housing off the tractor with the axle in it all in one shot. Thanks Mike

remove the clutch rod going through axle housing, remove the 4 nuts and then you can get the housing off as a unit, most times it will be a fight

FYI, your manuals are on the way to your email

That's what I was trying to say the first time. You can release the outer axle bearing but you can't pull it out. The brake shoes stay on the main case, drum stays with the shaft. Very simple once you see it.
