Got a question I have a 49 or 50 Allis G and I keep getting a intermittent oil pressure sometimes from 0 to 4 any ideas of what might be causing this and how it could be fixed thank you for your answers Jack

The oil pump is on the back end of the camshaft which is to the front of the tractor. You have to pull the engine to get at it. It's high above the oil level. I'm not sure if it has a check valve.

Mike, the B/C engines are like you describe, is the Continental in a G like that too with the oil pump high on the end of the camshaft?

Thank you very much now I have another question can I pull the axle housing off from the transmission differential without taking out the axle first

The oil pressure relief valve and spring are externally accessible located just below the oil pressure gauge. A slotted plug.

What really is the purpose of the pressure relief valve and if the pressure gauge is jumping around is that a sign of something I could fix with a pressure relief valve or is it in the oil pump? Thank you
