D19 Power adjust rims

I'm getting ready to work on changing the tires on my old D19. The rims both have damage from calcium chloride and the tires are shot. My problem is, I don't have a big enough impact wrench to get the lug nuts broke loose. My thought is to just cut the lug bolts off and when everything is repaired and done use grade 8 bolts the same size with lock washers and bolt her back up. The only issue is the lugs currently on it, are square headed on the back. Is there any particular reason I can't cut them off and replace them with regular bolts, or do the square heads need to be on there to prevent something from happening?. I know the engineers probably had a reason they are square and do serve a purpose to be that way. Thanks in advance.

the square headed bolts fit on the backside of cast wheel and hold themselves from turning. google them as they are still available from the
big bolt suppliers. they don't need to be grade 8.

I use a SHARP air chisel and mark one of the nut flats about 1/8-1/4 inch deep, nut will usually turn off then to save the bolt. Mark two flats if you can works even
better. All you need to replace then is the nuts as bolts won't be damaged. Works great on rusty manifold stud nuts too so studs won't break off..
