I'm posting this for a friend who who is working on an Allis Chalmers model 8775. The transmission's first, second, third and forth gears works fine BUT it is stuck in LOW RANGE and refuses to be shifted into high range. He has the side access cover off from this part of the set up and from what he sees so far is that he might have to disassemble the whole thing to see what might be causing the problem.
Any suggestions from the AC crowd that he might try to see or do before moving into the disassembly (which obviously he would prefer to avoid). As we move through this and a reply sends a question back to me, I will phone him with that and then reply back to those kinds of replies.
