Sweet 180

My BIL's boss had this super nice 180 Diesel he owned to do a little piddly work around a farmstead. The gentleman is an older guy, and runs a bank. Owns a fair amount of ground, but doesn't and hasn't farmed. He just used this tractor to mow a little, and move limbs around the farmstead. For all those years. Tractor has 4057 original hours on the working tach. All lights and gauges work. He told me he was certain the tractor had never spent a night outside, and it looks like it. The pics aren't the best, but the paint shines like a new one. This is one sweet tractor, and it won't spend any nights out here either.

I took the loader off as I have 2 other loader tractors, but think I will keep the tractor for minor chores such as raking and small baling. I can't believe how sweet that diesel engine sounds. It is a great survivor. And I did get the manual..lol!

Well I'm glad it survived, and still has a good home. All too many get destroyed. That was the first diesel tractor on our farm.

I'm sure it's a nice tractor but, the instrument panel cover was never black from the factory, so maybe the tractor has been repainted ?? That cover sure has been.

Had my BIL check with the original owner. Tractor was never painted. He didn't remember about the black cowling, plus he is getting up in years. Maybe he had work done and it was painted then. It was years ago it appears if so.

I would agree that the tractor has not been painted. You can always just tell by little spots and such when one has been painted. This one shows absolutely no signs. Although even the black doesn't look like it was, so you never know I guess. I can't believe how good this tractor runs, keeping in mind it is a 40+ year old machine, so anything can happen I realize.

Little things such as the 3 point, the hole in the drawbar, peddles, steering wheel, etc definitely make me think the 4000 hours are original. The older Gent did say they were. I should be cutting prairie hay Friday (weather permitting) so should get to use it on the rake Saturday afternoon and put her through her paces. Bob
