7060 Oil Issue

I recently acquired a 1975, 7060, with the power director transmission. The engine was seized. I did an in-frame engine overhaul and
it's running great, but it is transferring oil from the hydraulics into the transmission when using the PTO. What does that repair entail?

I have the operators, service and parts manuals. I would expect the service manual to cover that issue but I can't seem to find where it
does. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I see no connection hydraulically of the PTO circuit that would cause an oil transfer....none. What kind of PTO work ?? heavy loading of the engine ?? thru the PTO and on 1000 RPM or 540 RPM ??? I have repaired quite a few oil transfer problems in the last 50 years. Usually it's from the transmission to the rear end. Occasionally rear end (hydraulics) into the transmission, but 90% of the time it's trans into the rear end, and never related to the use of the PTO. More research and more info is going to be needed to solve this.

Since the engine overhaul the tractor has been used close to 200 hours puling an 8 yard scraper. No oil level issues. We just hooked it to a 10 yard capacity manure spreader and use the 1000 rpm pto. Not much of a load on the engine compared to pulling the scraper. Checked all oil levels this morning and found the transmission level about an inch above full, and nothing came out the lower differential check port. Haven't added oil to the diff. yet to see how much it needs. No sign of leakage other than some under the remote valves. Can't see any leaks on the spreader that would account for the hyd/diff loss.

May just be a coincidence now that we are using the pto. I'm going to have it back on the scraper in a few days. If the oil levels remain stable .........................well hmmmmmm.

When checking the transmission oil, be sure to look at BOTH sides of the dipstick. Sometimes the stick gets dragged on the tube going in and out under the seat. Check it several times and the tractor must be a LEVEL ground, as both places to check oil level are at there extreme ends of their compartments.
