Have a neighbor with a D17 tricycle front, he purchased a wide front but didn't get the casting extension or rear part the axle pivots on.
Any one have those parts they would sell or trade for the tricycle front.

Well, there are two different wide front ends. 1957 until sometime in 1960 and then from 1960 thru 1967. The wishbone frame is different as is the bellhousing where it attaches to the tractor is different. The front casting under the radiator is the same. He could have an old tractor and a newer axle and that isn't going to work without torch/welder/fabricated steel. He could have a newer tractor and have an old style rear attachment point. Again, trouble. Then, there's the difference between gas and diesel. A diesel axle/diesel chassis is 3 inches longer than a gas axle/chassis. So, now what do you want to do ???

Well it's a gas tractor, not sure if Series 3 or 4, it does have 3 point lift, I can find out more later.
How does one identify which axle he has.

Series 3 and 4 used the same axle. The correct axle wishbone frame is mainly made out of rolled angle iron. In other words a 2" x 3" angle iron with a very smooth radius bend, not a sharp bend like regular angle iron has. The old style axles were square 1" x 1" or 1.25" x 1.25" solid square stock.

Where are you located, I have a wide front, BUT I will have to see if all the pieces for the back mount are there, I am about 50 miles
west of St. Louis, thanks Roger
