WD Post hole Auger

Hello,
I am interested in using a post hole auger with my WD. I have an after market 3 point hitch on the tractor that I also have attached to a Cat 1 quick hitch. I think I probably have to remove the quick hitch. The bigger problems are the top link then as well as the tractor step above the PTO being in the way of the PTO shaft when it raises. Have any of you guys successfully used a post hole auger with a WD? If so, what were your solutions to those problems? Thank you in advance.

Most after-market 3pts leave a lot to be desired when it comes to lifting height. If you can get the top link short enough, you might be OK. The step is removed with 4-bolts.

On my dad's WD the top link mount is attached to the lift arm crossbar and yes the step had to be removed. I have also seen the step notched out for this reason.

I'm using a tsc sold post hole digger with my WD45. I have a wishbone 3pt adapter the top link is attached to the rock shaft. You do have to take the sliding spacer bar off the adapter but it works great. If you have a drawbar mounted 3 pt you'll probably have problems the PTO won't clear the drawbar. The Ujoint would have to make an almost 90 deg deflection to hit the step. There was a reason allis didn't make an adapter that could be used with the drawbar attached. The PTO is simply in the wrong place. Hence the much maligned wishbone adpter.
