tractor s/n wd111726,engine s/n wd320877pa. during tear down found the pilot bearing missing.after searching threw the wd/wd45 service manual under flywheel "the pilot bearing was removed w engine s/n 310920 and the shaft changed.no pilot bearing is needed."effective with wd45 engine s/n30956 the pilot bearing is again being used.the other 4 wds i tore down to make one good tractor all had pilot bearings.can i and should i install a pilot bearing when reassembling this tractor? also plan on ordering an engine kit from YT,has anyone used these kits?

I was in diapers when this happened. I was told it was a bad idea and that they had to go back to the old way. Now, I have seen some tractors that had a thin tin shim wrapped around the clutch shaft nose to bring the clutch shaft nose O.D. back up to fit the pilot brg I.D., so be sure to check that out.
