I pulled the AC 5040 in the shed yesterday and checked the thermostat and like i thought....it was missing. So i tore the motor on down and discovered the head gasket was blown, very blown. Two of the pistons had diesel fuel on top of them but the pistons were tight and the cylinder walls were good and smooth. Question i have is, should i get an Agco head gasket or would the gasket kit from link_disallowed be ok? Agco is 120 dollars and the whole gasket kit from the link_disallowed is 70 dollars.

YT Store sells parts and provides this site. The software usually blocks links to competitors, which I believe is understandable. In some cases it won't even accept the name of another site, if typed in correctly, and will block the post completely.

Without knowing who "link_disallowed is" I will say you run the risk of "you get what you paid for". That being said if the cheaper set has good reviews or is still a reputable brand like FELPRO, then I would not be afraid of it. The bigger concern is it sounds like the engine was ran awhile with the blown gasket and I would make sure that the head and block are both flat or within tolerance, as it will not matter what gasket you buy, it will not hold if the mating surfaces are out of spec.

Talk of the Town: Trailerin a Tractor, Chains or Straps? - by Staff. Another great discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: " I bought a trailer and plan to take my CASE VAS to some shows. I don't yet have anything to secure it to the trailer. So which is better to buy and use; the ratchet-type straps or binders and binder chains?
