PTO shaft, on B, with no hole in it for pin

I have a 52 B , that broke the PTO shaft in two, up inside of the hydraulic- pto, housing. I have a old 40 something C ,that is a parts tractor. I robbed the entire housing, off the C, and put it on the B. When I tried to install my existing over running clutch, on the pto shaft, the C unit had a smaller PTO shaft and splines, than the B. I went to TSC and bought another over running clutch with small splines in the input end, and larger, (normal), splines on the output side. Thought I had my problem solved. WRONG! when I tried to install it, there was no 5/16 th's hole in the C PTO shaft, to accept the pin in the clutch. Now , if I try to drill a hole in the PTO shaft, I am sure that it will be crooked. Unless I totally disassemble the PTO Housing, and take the shaft out, so I can clamp it in a drill vice, and use the drill press.I know that is what I should do, BUT I really don't want to. Any one have another Idea? maybe a way around tearing things back apart?

I drilled my C for an adaptor to the larger size. The hole didn't line up so I drilled new holes in both.

Thanks for offering TF, but I am out west in Washington state. I am guessing, that you are in what I consider the east. What year did AC put out normal size PTO shafts, on their small tractors? My 52 CA, and 52 B both have normal sized PTO shafts.

Yea can't much farther East than I am about 100 miles to the Atlantic.I don't know the years but I'm thinking you could just change out the shaft in your housing. If so it'd be the way to go.
