I have a 52 B , that broke the PTO shaft in two, up inside of the hydraulic- pto, housing. I have a old 40 something C ,that is a parts tractor. I robbed the entire housing, off the C, and put it on the B. When I tried to install my existing over running clutch, on the pto shaft, the C unit had a smaller PTO shaft and splines, than the B. I went to TSC and bought another over running clutch with small splines in the input end, and larger, (normal), splines on the output side. Thought I had my problem solved. WRONG! when I tried to install it, there was no 5/16 th's hole in the C PTO shaft, to accept the pin in the clutch. Now , if I try to drill a hole in the PTO shaft, I am sure that it will be crooked. Unless I totally disassemble the PTO Housing, and take the shaft out, so I can clamp it in a drill vice, and use the drill press.I know that is what I should do, BUT I really don't want to. Any one have another Idea? maybe a way around tearing things back apart?
