Gleaner flex head question.

I can't seem to find this info out anywhere else and was advised there is very good info here.

I've got a series 3 N6 and need a new flex head. Have found one online that is a 20' they say 5000 but I think it's a 500. It was on a R62 currently. The head does have a reel head pump on the right side. Will this head fit the older N?

Your series 3 head should have a pump on it to regulate reel speed. You would have
to check the electrical connections for the auto header height control to see if
they have similar ends. I would think they should be the same, since there were
changes made to the headers once the L and M series were discontinued.

Yours is a 1983 model and the feederhouse would be the same UNLESS the R62 is 1997 or 98 and newer. Measure the height of the front of each feederhouse. The newer taller ones are like 4 to 6 inches taller.

The connector on my N6 only has 4 wires and the previous owner replaced the end with a flat 4 trailer wiring connector. That R is a 92 ish not late 90's.
