180 Water Pump replacement?

I have a AC 180and it's been some time since I've changed the water pump on my 185 since the mid 80's.

Should I buy the one that looks like OEM that is a two piece pump for $88.00

or they have a 1 piece pump for $55.00 but doesn't have the piece that you would bolt the fan on to the pump on the impeller shaft.
That seems weird and I don't want to fight to get that piece off of my old pump if it even does?

Here are my thoughts for what they are worth.

First, if the links opened correctly it looks like you are looking at two different water pumps. This is also assuming they have the correct pictures shown for each. You should be looking at the one that looks like the one on your tractor. When I read the full description for the one you called the "one piece" pump, reads to me as it is for Massey Fergusons with Perkins engines.

Second, unless you have a puller remove the pulley hub from your old pump and a press to to install it, purchase a pump with the hub already on it. Pumps can be ruined swapping hubs when not done correctly.

From the AGCO parts book it appears 74007554 is the AGCO part number for your water pump. If you are referring to the water inlet pipe (where the lower radiator hose connects as the second part; it is a separate part; not a part of the water pump. That would lead me to rule out the pump with the lower hose neck as part of the pump body.

You want the style of pump that will connect to your thermostat housing above the alternator. So, look at it. Is it a steel tube? or a hose?. Older 180/185's had a steel tube for a bypass line. Later models (1972 and up?) had a hose with 2 clamps. Some replacement water pumps are made to go both ways by means of an adapter that screws into the pump body....making it 2-piece ???? Definitely get a pump with the hub already pressed on !!!
