C engine troubles

Hello. I have a C Allis wide front that i have been having issues with the engine. Some one has been in and welded up some push rods and think it has a bad valve as well. Problem is I dont think it's a C engine in this tractor. Has a code of 15-8332-R.

I'd have to look at the Cs I have to see what the casting numbers are. I have 2 parts Cs here

Your correct on it not being a B or C engine. It has the hydraulic pump mounted on the right lower corner. The block is not as wide at the bottom that causes it to have only one bolt holding the front bolster. It has a head with the bock rocker arm oil line in the center rather than at the back and the governor is mounted off the front timing cover for a few obvious things. Not sure from the pictures how they were able to mount it to the bell housing. The D 10 thru D 15 was a direct bolt up both front and back. Thw WC was not a direct bolt up to the bellhousing.

Looking close at all the pictures I think it is a D 10 thru D 15 engine which would make it a direct bolt in. The hole in the bolster outside of the block is for the side engine side weights.

The oil line out of the block to the filter gives me a problem in calling it a D 10 though. I keep looking and scratching my head as to where it came from. Maybe from an industrial application.

If I had that engine in my shop it would trouble so much I would take it all apart and measure every part to see what I was working with. I would want to know if it had flat top pistons or they were crater and the diameter. I would want to know the crankshaft stroke along with the main journal diameter and width. I would want to know what oil pump was being used. With the oil pressure gage in its location I would guess that it was to be seen from the seat to what ever it was installed in. The more I look at the pictures the more I wish I was not 82 and disabled. I would want to be looking over your shoulder. I hope someone will read you post with the identity of the engine.

Thanks. It is running at the time being. It just is missing on one cylinder. I just dont get time to work on these things to often. Farming and kids keep me busy. It has new pistons and sleeves when we looked in the spark plug holes. I will just keep working on it here and there. Hopefully can get head pulled and get some more numbers off it.

Definitely a D series and not the 125 a C would have originally. Before you rip the head off, check the compression on the dead cylinder against the others. If it has compression, no need to tear down. Swap the plug wire with one from a good cylinder. Do the same with the plug. You're looking for the misfire to follow a part.

Your distributor photo is not clear, but it looks to me like the plug wires might not be in order. Re-check them.
