there seems to be a wire crossed some where in the system, i think some one tried to rewire the system in the gauge and switch box, does any have a pic or diagram of wiring in the box, any one in the Denver area that works on tractors that might know/help correct this problem.

There is a wiring diagram of the basic original wiring in the Operator's Manual I posted a link to, for you the other day.

thanks i checked it out, the problem i have is who ever replaced wires used all red wires, they must have in the drawer so i,m not which one goes to which post

It tells where each wire goes as well as the color. You may need to unhook both ends of the wires in question and use an ohmmeter, or test light and power source to ID each wire, by checking for continuity between wire ends.

whoever owned the tractor tried to rewire it but they use a roll of red wire, instead of the right color wires, so they didn't do one at a time to know for sure what went where

Bob,

Here is the link again. The wire descriptions tell the original colors and where each end goes.

Because they used one color wire for everything, [u:a4049bca48]you[/u:a4049bca48] are going to have to either cut the homemade harness covering (assuming it is tape wrapped or in something for a loom) apart so you can see the entire length of each wire to know where both ends are or use something like an ohmmeter to check end to end of each wire to find which ends go together go. I recently had to do this type thing to straighten out lights and brakes on a gooseneck trailer with a butchered harness (multiple old repairs with multiple colors and sizes from end to end) and a tractor for a neighbor. Sorry but I don't see that there is any way, anyone can tell you which red wire goes on which terminal in that box, without knowing where its other end is connected. Just my thoughts on your wiring issue.

thanks jim, found the manual, didn't know they used the same color wire, shows how much i know, will try to trace wires with a friend who says he has done some wiring..
