hydraulic level for a AC 615 backhoe / loader

I just cant figure out the Fluid levels for the shuttle ? So it is basically a AC 615 which is a D 15 industrial , later model so its a 2nd
generation with the 200 cu diesel with backhoe and loader. It has a simple geared 4 speed trans and clutch . there is no reverse using the
top shifter as what I read in the service manual the trans just has the two rails inside it and not the top 3rd rail so reverse only comes
in when you pull the shuttle arm back in reverse .So there is 2 dip sticks , one is above the trans/rear end cavity and then one above the
shuttle cavity that is in the rear end of the torqe tube . As far as hydraulics it has a front mounted pump for the backhoe and the loader
and they both use the frame of the backhoe and loader to store the supply on hyd fluid. it appears that the rear end /trans fluid is shared
and then the torque tube houses the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate up front and in the rear a cavity for the hyd shuttle and power steering
pump. and it has a seperate dip stick above that area which makes me believe that evidently the trans/rear end / final is 1 fluid probably
a trans fluid and the pump in the torque tube for the hydraulic clutch/and power steering is a seperate area not sharing the same fluids .
So I checked the rear fluid for the trans /rear end which is on top of the trans and it was really clean on the dip stick , justv a litle
less than full so I added trans fluid , how ever the dip stick above the torque tube under the gas tank did not show anything at all . so I
want to add fluid to it but I can not figure out what is stamped into the dip stick ? it does not make sense . here is a picture of the
dip stick for the shuttle pump area . I just want to fill it up with hyd fluid to the correct level but for some reason I dont know what
this means ?

The power director [shuttle on yours] fill/dipstick screws straight down into the top left side of the housing, just to the rear of the dash, on my D15 II farm tractor. It's longer than what you show, and has a hex, bolt type head, not the big breather you show.

Over on the right side of the tractor, under the fuel tank, going into the torque tube at an angle, is a filler/dip stick just like the one you show. It's for the tractor hydraulic system. I assume that's where yours is. Yours simply indicates the oil level for a tractor with no hydraulic system there.

Thanks bob .your right I saw that piece and thought it was a long filter ...your right it was the dip stick for the power director .thanks .. as far as the other breather /dip stick that I showed in the pics, I think that is the same area where the lines attach and goes to the power steering pump attached up by the left side of the motor and I looked under neath and it has a small oil pan and drain plug so I think that filler cap / dip stick I have in the picture is for the live hydraulic system I have and since my tractor needs power steering it is there to supply that , and yes the dip stick it has a cast angled port it fits into under the tank. so the question then is if that is the dip stick for the fluid for the hydraulic system then I wonder if I keep it filled to the mark on the stick...and if that's the case then it does not make sense because the dip stick says that if your tractor does not have that hydraulic system with the pump up front and you don't have hydraulics then you should keep it filled up to that level on the dip stick? SO if you don't have a hyd pump system ... why would you put any fluid in it ? What purpose does it serve? if someone ordered a tractor with no 3 point or traction booster or power steering then they would not have that pump and then there would be no reason to have any fluid in that cavity then. im confused and not sure where to fill it up to.

I think they should have reworded it differently on the dip stick . " keep filled to line with or w/o hydraulic system "

The tractors using that compartment for the hydraulic system had a higher oil level, as it is the hydraulic reservoir. The extra oil is not needed there if it is not being used for hydraulics. This is the dipstick for an Ag tractor with the standard rear lift arms and remote coupler. The D14 and D15 list the two different dipsticks in the parts books.
