4 quick questions for you guys.

How thick are new brake shoe linings? I have it apart right now and am debating replacing the linings. I measured .130 depth to the rivet. Approximately .210 total thickness.
I can't find a diff cover gasket anywhere on line, there wasn't one there when I took it apart. What is the best sealant to use here? Or should I make a gasket?

What do you guys use for trans/diff oil? Manual calls for SAE 80. Is 80-W90 ok?
The trans output shaft bearings were toast. When I put the shaft back in how do I align the gears so the shifter forks line up properly?

Front brake pads are always worn more than the rear because most people don't adjust them properly. Yours don't sound that bad. The rear shoe spring is stronger than the front shoe spring pulling the assembly to the rear wearing out the front pad. Adjust the square head centering bolt at the rear so that both shoes move the same distance when you apply the brake. Oil resistant RTV silicone can be used on the rear cover. Be sure to clean all surfaces with brake kleen first and apply plenty of RTV before installing and let cure for 24 hrs. You can use about any type of oil you want. GL80/90W is fine or you can use modern Hyd/Trans oil. 80/90 will leak less if you have any seepage.

You should be fine. Put a lot of grease in the hole the pin goes into at the bottom and put it together.
