Hello;

What is a good oil filter for a 1963 D-17 Series 111 gas? Also , am thinking on running 30 weight for diesels. Comments welcome

Well, you sure do have a lot of options.......being a Ford guy and having a few left "in stock" and no Fords left that use them, I use Motocraft FL-1A filters.

Brian gave you the Motocraft cross reference number: FL-1A

I use WIX/NAPA or Baldwin as they are readily available around me.
WIX: 51515
NAPA: 1515
Baldwin: B2

Use the AC number above and cross to the filter brand of your choice.

Unless you are only running it warm weather, I personally would not use straight 30 weight. I use the same 15W-40 good quality diesel oils I use in my other Allis tractors (185, 190XT, 8030) in both my Series III and IV D17's.
