I60 diesel injector pump timing

I have a 175 diesel in a I600 backhoe. I believe the injection pump timing is off(pump was just rebuilt) Has anyone reset the gears in the front of the engine for the pump?

Removal of the injection pump and reinstallation of it doesn't change the gears in the front of the engine. The pump body can be rotated back and forth a few degrees and should always be MARKED before removal, so you can put it back right where it was before.

That's not the case on this engine there is a mark on the shaft that's hooked to the gear it's goes to the front of the end that Mark has to match the mark inside the pump

Yes, the driveshaft tang has a DOT on one side and that needs to align with the DOT inside the injection pump drive socket. If you get that wrong, you are 180 degrees out of time. That engine might actually run 180 degrees out of time, but it would start harder than usual and not run as well as it should.
