I am looking at an Allis 200 Diesel. THey tell me it pops out of gear but if you hold it there it works.
What could be the issue with this?
Also does it have live PTO?
Thanks
Matt

What gear does it jump out of? If 4th gear, looking at the input shaft and shifting collar. Other gears, a shifting collar and gear it engages in. Depending
on how much and how long it has been held in gear with foot on gearshift, the shifting fork could be worn also. Yes, it does have live PTO, not
independent PTO. If you shift the power director into neutral the PTO still turns, but if you push the foot clutch down they the PTO stops as well as the
tractor movement.

a LOT OF 200'S HAVE A INDEPENDENT PTO . If its 2nd or 3rd it will take money and lots of time to fix. Hope the price is cheap !! Most gear
jumpers are caused by gear grinding and ramming. Good luck ! P.S. has it had a endloader on it?

None of the 200's have independent PTO. Live PTO using the power director. PTO stops when using the engine clutch. Hydraulic PTO engagement was optional.
