VAC tranny- rear oil

A friend has a row crop VAC that is low on oil in the tranny. What does it use? It looks like the rear end, tranny, and hydraulics pull out of the same reservoir. Is this correct?

I believe a VAC is Case not Allis Chalmers.

May have better luck on their forums for details.

Otherwise, drain all fluid in rear, flush with diesel, use modern hydraulic transmission fluid.

Yes, a VAC is Case, not AC. But, I recently acquired an early VAC, w/Eagle Hitch. The hyd. reservoir is the torque tube, filled through, and level checked with the pipe plug on the side of the housing. The later VAC will have a filter under a four bolt plate near there. The trans and rear end is filled and checked through the plug/dipstick on the shift housing cover. My VAC tends to transfer oil from the hyd/torque tube to the rear end.
