Is the key in brake shaft in top or bottom of cam.

After heating cam twice really hot finally got to give up. After getting to move key hit eye on band so flipped handle other way. Its on bottom of shaft.

I think it's on top. If it were on the bottom it'd fall out trying to put things together. Parts book lists a woodruff key, but the diagram doesn't show it's location on the shaft.

If it has a lever for a brake, the key on shaft will show where keyway should be.
