wd fuel shutoff valve

My tractor was apparently one of the first wd 45 or last of wd and has a wd engine with a wd45 bent transmission shift lever and I believe the rest of the tractor is wd 45. The story I got is that they had some wd engines left over when they started up the wd 45 tractor line! Does that sound right to you guys?
Would my fuel shutoff valve be the same on both wd and wd45 tractors and if not which do I have? I found several sources for parts on ebay but they all refer to the wd45 and do not appear the have the brass fitting, just a female pipe thread. In short I wish to keep my steel fuel line with its fittings and do not know if those valves on ebay are exact replacements! Is the brass fitting on the valve removable?

Not uncommon to have a WD engine in a WD45 tractor or the other way around. I have a WD45 with a straight gear shiftier. My W Speed Patrol when I first got it had a WD45 engine in it when it should have had a WC engine which is the same as the WD engine is. Gas tank and sediment bowl assemblies are the same in the WC, WD, And WD45

OH and by the way this site is likely to have all you need and or O'Reilly's auto part can get every thing you need

The transmission was switched roughly 20,000 machines before they changed to the WD45. It's not possible to have a factory WD45 with a straight stick tranny. Either way, the sediment bowl is the same for both. I'd bet the original brass is removable.

Why don't you check your serial number, on the left rear axel, and compare it with the serial number list , at the left top corner of your screen. Then you will know what the tractor was originally, and you can figure out the most likely scenario.?
