That is just the casting number and will not help you find the information your after. Look just in front of the gear shift lever for the tractor serial number.
If it is a 1949 it is probably a B or C because the CA started production in 1950.
The B, C, RC, and CA all would have had that casting number except for the last two numbers.

Don't forget the WD. That would have a serial number on the left rear brake housing. Can you describe this tractor some more. Frame rails, snap hitch, seat, tire sizes, etc? All can help narrow down the model.

The casting number referred to and shown in the center of the block was for the engine used only on the B, C, RC, and CA
