I have been using my 8050 for this fall during harvest pulling gravity wagons. It has been running great the last few weeks with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. The last day or two it has been low 30s during the day and 20s at night. It was pretty low on coolant so I filled it up and ran it and it pushes coolant with bubbles into the reservoir. It also smokes white when it idles and up until about 1,500 rpms. Prior to this fall it unfortunately sat for about 2 years inside the barn. The heater worked great up until today too and stopped working right before the white smoke appeared. What do you guys think is going on?

A little more information, we had the engine overhauled with a new block about 12 years ago, it probably has less then a 500-600 hours since then as I only use to disc mow hay with.

Sounds like there's a coolant leak, leaking head gasket or worse, a cracked head. White smoke could be the coolant leaking into the combustion chamber, and loss of heater can mean compression is getting into coolant. Years ago on Olds diesels, when the head gaskets started to leak the heater always stopped working too.

If there is a good radiator shop in your area ask them for the fine wood type stop leak. It's very hard to find but it works well.

This is if you have to use the tractor. If not start hunting.
