My grand father has a 1954 allis chalmers model b and we found
out that the right rear bearing is gone and the final drive oil
pan had no oil in it. So me and my father went and took off the
wheel and pan with no problem at all to find that the bearing
had fell a part. Then we went for the big retainer nut and got
that loose. But this is what were stuck on how dose the nut come
off the shaft we made shure the nut is loose as possible unless
there is a snap rinh at the end of the threads

You can go to https://na.apb.agcocorp.com/p/agcoallis/79001543/l/144? and view the parts book. I think there is a guy who has digitized the service manual and has it in pdf form on line. If you can't find it, I have one and I can help you figure it out. From the pictures, it looks like you need some pretty beefy pullers for a couple steps.

I tried looking for those manuals and could not find
them but it would be very helpful if you could walk
me through it. I?ll try to send a video if I can.

OK i just found what i think is my problem at the end of the shaft there is a snap ring that looks to be holding the nut on the end of the shaft.
so if i remove this snap ring do you think that will let me remove the nut or not?

The axle is pressed in. It is not a slip fit. To remove the nut the axle needs to move out at the same time nut is turned off.

Yes sir: If you try to beat it out you may get to buy a different axle shaft. I have always removed the final drive as in the picture. It can be done without removing the final drive using a bottle jack and chains or some way to hold the bottle jack. Just a lot of rolling around on the floor that way.

Disking hipping rows pulling logs cultivating pulling tree stumps pulling cinder blocks chained together to make a path through the woods laying off rows and some other stuff

Sounds like a good ole B.I probably have some other B stuff around you might be able to use.I've been hauling in AC and other tractor related stuff for over 40 years. Some of my
relatives were from Halifax County including Governor Bill Tuck.

Send me an email.

I think you can swap the 5 lug axle stub out with the one bolt stub.I'll check later on what rears I have over in the field I may have a parts B with a 5 lug axle stub.
Of course you could put the whole single nut final drive with that wheel center and use your tire and rim on it,just be different styles on each side.

Ok update time me and my father removed the right rear axel and took it home and put it on a workbench i was trying to use a bottle jack to press it out but it would not work. So I have a question if I?m going to press the axel out do I put something into the screw hole and then press or do I just press it as it is?
