Allis ca issues any ideas

Couple questions on allis ca issues. 1. The front end wobbles (narrow front) in 3rd and 4th gear steers fine otherwise. Any ideas how to fix or what it is? 2.Will jump out of 3rd and 4th gear quite often unless you hold it in. Any ideas? thanks

On the wobble most likely the worm gear is worn, the transmission you may have to replace some parts, some people would grind the gears trying to force it into gear and wear out the cogs etc. I have two CA's and one will jump 3rd gear when under a pull. But that tractor usually is only used in 1st and 2nd gear so I don't get to torn up about 3rd. The other one is fine in all 4 gears.

put a floor jack under the motor bell housing and raise the front tires an inch off the ground... grab the tire and jerk it left and right and watch the steering arm out of the box ( below radiator) with the rod going to back to the steering box under the gas tank... move the tire back and forth ( slop) and see if the play is in the front box or the rear box..
