I bought a rebuild kit for my WD from yesterday?s tractors and
have a few questions. On the original pistons there was a
correct way to install them based on the side the T groove
was on. The new pistons don?t have a T groove and the only
distinguishing features are the letters stamped on top of the
piston and a green sharpie dot on the bottom of the piston.
Does it matter which direction the new pistons are installed?
The instructions for the oil ring noted four pieces but only 3
came with the kit. The upper and lower rings and the steel
spacer. Is there supposed to be a fourth ring of some sort?
Last question is if there is a recommended gap between the
ends of the rings once inside the sleeve?
