AC 160 3pt hitch probs. Help!

So we have a new-to-us AC 160. Having lots of issues, but todays big problem is that the 3pt hitch keeps randomly lifting. My husband will be bush hogging away, and suddenly the bush hog is in the air. He has to turn the tractor off to lower it again. This is very frustrating. We are new to tractors, and unsure why this is happening. The lever does not go up with it when it lifts on its own. And when he turns the tractor off, it lowers on it's own. Unsure if its supposed to do that.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

I'm going to guess the internal lift cylinder is leaking, causing it to "hunt" for correct height. I will tell you this: the 160 was famous for having 3 point hitch problems and that is a fact. Probably why it got sold.

Is this repairable?

I would hope so, but finding someone who is familiar with that model is the big issue, along with repair parts availability.
