Books On AC Equipment....

Are there books out there that cover the farm equipment side of Allis? Something in depth & not just a picture book. Not really looking for a book of tractors AND equipment. Got a couple of those already. Also am curious about anything that covers the turbine & power generation equipment as I only know a little about it. I do recall getting a peek inside the turbine hall, in West Allis, as a youngster. Surprised they didn't turn the pit into a public swimming pool after they closed down. It was HUGE!

Thanks,
Mike

I can?t say as I?ve run across anything on farm equipment only-with out farm tractors.
Probably the two best I?ve run across are Norm Swinfords Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985
And
the allis chalmers story By CH Wendel
Both can be spendy if you don?t all ready have, but are both very good. Norms as I recall has some good info on both tractors and implements not seen elsewhere and Wendels is full of b&w archival photos of just about every line of equipment AC made, with good amounts of information to go along.

It's far from being a book but I did pick up this brochure at a sale a couple months ago.

The book by Wendel I have already. It's part of the reason why I posted the question. So much neat stuff in there, I had hoped someone expanded on it. The other book I'll be looking for at Half Price books next time I go. Scored quite a few expensive books there for cheap.

Thanks
Mike

Swinford did 3. Farm tractors, tractors and equipment, and construction. Terry Dean did a real nice reference book on tractors. I forget who did it, but there are 2 volumes of books of nothing but ads compiled together. "Better By Design" vol 1 and 2.
