Hi, I have a 5040 where the neutral safety switch doesn't work. Trying to replace it but can't find the right one. I can't find a part number or vendor that sells one that is like the actual switch.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Bill

The AGCO parts book shows the Switch in one of the 5040 Electrical Circuits. Item 16

The one on my 5040 stopped working too.

IIRC, the assembly is swaged together; the metal body being swaged or crimped to the phenolic (?) tower.
To get it apart I had to carefully turn the swaged portion in a lathe until the phenolic came out.
I think the contacts were just dirty and corroded.
To re-assemble it, I tapped the base for some small screws and drilled the phenolic part for them.

You can use the on line parts book at AGCOpartsbooks.com to find you switch part number. Click on view Books in the guest user section. On the next page search for 5040 and your parts book should come up as an option. The switch will be found in the electrical section. Sandy Lake Implement has done well for many on hard to find A.C. Parts.
