Allis g starter

I'm new on the allis site, mostly use the green forum but have a need for a allis g starter if anyone might have one or know where I could find one. Also
a good used gas tank if there is one of those around. Thanks for your help. Larry

The starters are not very common. Despite the G engine being a Contentintal used in other applications (ie Massy Pony) few and possibly none of the other applications used the same starter. So assuming yours is missing
, be prepared for to be expensive. If yours is just not working, look to have it rebuilt.

As to the gas tank, I believe there is a repo around for it, kinda spendy too.

I'm not that big on being all original so I can build a gas tank cheaper than that . Yes I have the starter, but in pretty bad shape as for looks. Have not been inside yet. It will turn. I bought 2 complete tractors yesterday for 1250. So I guess I could spend a little on them. Lol

Id say have your starter rebuilt-i believe you?ll find it worth it.

Sounds like you did well. Be warned, the rear tires are pricy/rare too. 7.2-30 IIRC is the modern size (original was 6-30). Again, the G is close to or maybe the only tractor that uses them.

I have a G. My starter wasn't working. Took it apart and cleaned it up, got that copper inside nice and shiny again. Worked GREAT right after I put it back in. The starter on the model G is right under the oil bath air cleaner, drippity drop drip! Lots of gunk falling onto/into starter over time. Trouble!
