Cousins 175 stripped the hub and shaft splines off front hydraulic pump, needs hub that bolts to Crank pulley and shaft, can't source any cheaply , any suggestions or anyone have parts tractor, I'm talking about the crankshaft driven pump under radiator, to clear up any confusion thanks Dusty

Luckily for me, I have a machinist friend who can build anything. Whether he would involve off-the-shelf couplers, or make everything, I don't know.

If I had to fix it myself, I would probably buy an off the shelf drive coupler, and weld one half to the existing hub which is bolted to the front pulley, and key, weld, or otherwise affix the other half to the shaft.

A guy on a Facebook group told me about it. I put one on my D17 when the OEM one fell apart. It is a direct bolt on swap.

I did the same repair on my AC 175 a few years ago. I reused the existing hub, (the vibration isolation bushings in the flange were still good). I had the hub bored out and a keyway put in it. I then had a new shaft made to fit the hub and with a keyway cut into it. The smaller diameter was made the same as the old shaft with a keyway

I was thinking about using a Lovejoy coupling(rubber insert) but decided on the chain coupling (similar to the existing setup. The pump and shaft are two different sizes so you will need to buy 2 different coupling halves. I think i got mine at McMaster Carr..

Take the time to get the alignment as close as you can, as you can see mine was way out. The manual says that you can bend the ears that the pump bolts to to help the alignment. I had not unbolted the pump. ALSO, while you have it apart replace the fan belt if yours is showing any signs of wear. Otherwise you will be taking it partially apart again to replace it.

I made this repair several years ago and it is still holding up.

That will not work on the 170/175 tractors. The gas and diesel tractors both have a 1"x6 spline shaft, not 3/4". Also the coupler mounting bolt pattern is different between the gas and diesel tractors. Yes, its a little confusing!

This is the correct hub for the diesel 170/175 tractors:

Correct hub for gas 170/175 tractors:

All I know is my OEM front mount pump used the 3/4" shaft. The front crank pulley is the same between the D17 and 170/175 gas tractors. You'd have to measure the shaft and make sure you got the right one.
