WD 45 belt pulley part 2

Got my new cork gasket for the pulley assembly from DJs,This is the one that seals it into the housing. Do I need any type of gasket sealant on it. I haven't messed with cork gaskets much and its been a while. Thanks.

If you intend on using the belt pulley (sliding it in and out to mesh the gears) soak it in oil....no gasket goop. If it is just going to seal the plug without a belt pulley, use some gasket sealer to keep it dry. On my WD45 tractor ride tractor, I used a length of small rubber gas line hose (instead of a cork gasket)and put the end gaps at the top. It stays DRY.
