I have a D-17 series 4 the center steering arm assy seems loose on the steering shaft moves up and down making the steering wonder . Can the splines be redone? any other fix? Anyone have answers? Nothing new available I doubt.

Depends how many $$$$ you want to spend. No new parts available. I usually replace the oil seal above the steering arm first, and reassemble the steering arm. Prop it up where it should be and weld it on the bottom. A correct fix?? No, but a lot better than it was before and the weld could be ground off if needed. You could consider heating the splined portion of the arm red hot (while off the shaft) and letting it cool down to room temp slowly. I'll guarantee it will fit tighter after that.
