k so I am 18 and not set what's out their that's why I was not posific. I guess trying to find something that bild from the 1950 to the 70s. Any brand just not john deere. I own a few oliver super 88 tractors that I have restored so I spider it would be nice to find an oliver 33 35 40 combine but like I said I am Pruitt open to anything dispensing on the condition. It would be nice if the combine had all of its belts and chain and can start an drive the combine. The main thing I would like to do to it is clean out the engine and give it a new coat of paint and stickers.

Hard to decipher exactly what you have in mind.....and partly I suspect due to typing your thoughts quickly on a smart phone and auto correct changing the words around on you.

So this is mostly a tinkering project? You don't have a use or need for one? Just want to fix up the engine and make it look nice? Do you hope to sell it when done or what is the end game?

Do you have a budget / price in mind? Do you really want to own one or would you work on a project sitting in someone's barn (hopefully not in some fence row).

All questions to help others help you.

On to some suggestions.......since you posted on the AC forum, you seem to be open to Gleaners? My suggestion is to keep an eye on local estate and consignment auctions and Craigslist for a Gleaner E or K, which are self propelled combines and if you want to know how a combine works, they are as good as any to tinker with. Probably better than most. They were more common than a lot of other makes and you can still find parts for them.

Or if something like an E fits the bill, post a WTB ad on your local
CL. To give you an idea of what to expect, I saw a decent one sell a few years back.....had been stored in a barn for at least 10 years. Had two platforms and a 2 row corn head and sold for $1,200. Was sold "as is" and not running at the sale, but I'm told buyers got it running when they got it home.
