AC 780 chopper

Anyone know anything about an Allis Chalmers 780 1 row chopper or ever use one before? I only chop around 20 acres per year. A nice looking 780 is coming up on Auctiontime this week, it has a corn head, I thought I read one time that AC also made direct cut and pick up hay heads to fit the 780 but I do not know. Any information is appreciated.

They were sold around here and seemed to be OK. The auction unit has a rust hole in the transition but that would not bother me personally. AC did make Pick up attachments for that chopper. Now if you are not buying it for the collectability NH or IH would be better ways to go in terms of parts.

We had one of these with a 1 row head and pickup head. 1 row works really well as it was built for a 2 row corn head. Pretty easy to work on far as choppers go. Better than new holland or deere. What size tractor are you putting on it?
