Allis Chalmers G Reverse?

I have an allis G that does not have reverse. Seems on the inspection plate on the side there is not a slot cut to allow it to shift to reverse. Is this the way they were made???

I've seen reverse blocked of on tractors with a shuttle shift but I don't think a G ever had anything like that. Although they did make a loader for Gs so?? Can you see into the transmission enough to know it there's an idler gear and fork?

Its the same transmission as the B and C I can't imagine why anyone would do away with reverse,

Thanks for the reply. After taking the side cover off again and removing the shift mechanism the slideshafts were rusted not allowing it to shift. After cleaning them and a little emery I got them freed up all works . Reasssemble it and works fine. Thanks for the help..
