There's a craigslist ad for a Allis-Chalmers for sale in Indiana that the seller thinks is a C.

What do you fellows think? I think it's a C with the adjustable front about as narrow as it will go. I know someone more experienced than me can probably tell by the drawbar, steering box and pitman arm, etc.

Despite what the seller wrote about the engine seized I am interested in it. Thanks for any guidance.

It is a B with an adjustable wide front and the 5 bolt rear hub, rather than the one big center nut hub. Good little tractors, especially with those options.

Thanks. I am thinking it is a B too. I like the adjustable wide front better than the curved non-adjustable axle you see on most B?s.

(quoted from post at 10:19:48 11/23/18) If the distributor is original it'll be from the early 50's
The seller sent me a picture of the serial number: B95885 which makes it a 1949, right? I responded to him that I was no longer interested. Not that it's a B... I really should not buy [i:27f146f3a6]anything[/i:27f146f3a6] right now. Maybe in the spring.
