I just purchased a D 17 and I'm wondering why there's only one hydraulic outlet out back and can I change that to two
And where would that control lever for that outlet be?
I want to use it on a snowblower chute to rotate it .
And what would be The best way to solve this problem ?

D17 had a limited hyd capability. Simplest to add a separate hyd system with a front mount pump. The front of the crankshaft pulley should have 4 drilled/tapped bores where you can attach the pump drive to.

Back lever in the left side of the steering wheel runs the single remote. If you have a front pump and valve block, just add another valve.

I guess if it was my tractor, I'd add an OPEN CENTER single spool valve with "Power Beyond" capability plumbed in before the loaders dual spool valves. This would be live whenever the engine runs. I'd think about locating to the left of the seat for easy access to connect your blower chute cylinders hoses. You could also plumb a single spool valve thru the single outlet you already have on the rear of the tractor, but that would be very second rate compared to the power beyond valve configuration that would be "live" whenever the engine runs.

I am the 83 year old man.can someone send some pics. On all of this?tomorow I will send pics. Of tractor
Thanks much for allresponds need all the helpi can get. This is mY last big joy.

You can get a Prince or other valve from Surplus Center that has the power beyond feature so you can run it in line with your loader valve as Dr Allis described.I'd get a double valve as you never know you make need two at some time in the future.

Hears a pic. Can I tie on to front pump to a control valve for the back?
Yet what controls back outlet can I tie another on that?

To operate your lift arms AND provide oil flow to that single outlet, you use the long lever on the left side of the steering wheel. UP will raise the arms. MIDway will hold the arms. DOWN below horizontal will lower the arms. The foot clutch must be released for this system to work. It is a high pressure (3700 psi) system and made for high pressure cylinders. If you want a good system, tie into the loaders hydraulic system like I described in my earlier post. It will require fabrication to mount a power beyond type valve to the left of the seat and make hoses to plumb everything. I'd be glad to build it for you, but I'll bet we're hundreds of miles apart.

I see someone has painted up your tractor to make it look like a D-17 series 3 model. It isn't that new. It has an oil bath air cleaner, so it is a 1957 thru 1961 version as I see it here. The true series 3 models were 1962 and 63 and had dry air cleaners and an oval muffler and headlites on the fenders. Mufflers and headlites often got changed to the newer style, but the oil bath air cleaner is the dead giveaway on age.

I know it's a Series 2 with the wrong decal the serial number is 40337 does this tell you anything that I don't know I though it was a early 1962
Help.

D allis- if I get longer hoses for the snowblower and tie them into the loader outlets will the loader
stay up on its own for at least an hour or two ?

If you install quick connects to the hoses in theory the loader should stay up for days if not week but one never knows. Might be better and easier to just add another valve to the loader set up and they you keep the loader working plus the blower

Longer hoses to the loader would be a way of accomplishing your goal, altho not as handy. Consider tapping into the bucket lines instead of the boom. If you had a shut-off valves on each of the 4 hoses involved, you would never have to unhook anything. Just turn off two shut-offs and turn on two shut-offs with all four hoses always connected ready to work.

I think that's the way our goal now I have to find several 3/8 couplings I don't know a farm and fleet handle them you know like pioneer
couplings. Tractor supply might have them. thanks for the help
Jack

Most any farm and home store should have what you need and if not any good tractor dealer will

I want to thank all of you for your wisdom and how I could handle the situation and I'm going to try what I said and when I get it hooked up to the snowblower I'll send you a picture of the whole works and hope it works.later when I have time I will try something else
If I am still around. What fun we have with the junk we have. thanks again
