Has anyone having this or experiencing this transmission gear shift problem? Shifts into all gear and park positions okay; will come out of 2, 3 and park okay; but it doesn't like to come out of 1st! Acts like its stuck in gear. After playing with it a lot, all of the sudden it will it will release/come out. Aggravating, to say the least. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

No one uses low gear much, if at all. I'm visualizing the spline lock on the shifting collar to be hanging up while you are holding the clutch pedal clear down to the floor(applying the transmission brake) and on an incline of some sort. Try popping it out of gear with clutch pushed down enough just to release it while the tractor is still slowly rolling and not at a dead stop. I don't think there is really anything wrong, just a technique thing and why are you using low gear anyway ??

Thanks for the response and information. We use 1st gear only to move the tractor around in close and tight spaces, not necessarily for field work. You can bet we will certainly give your instructions a try. Your comments and wealth of information is always appreciated! Thanks again. Farmer AK (Tom)

1st gear is a little tough on my black belly as well. The transmission brake will make it bind up a little in 1st. It is worst when the tractor is cold. Usually I try to bump it out while it is still rolling with the clutch pedal depressed just before the brake engages like Dr said. The key is keeping it rolling with no resistance from the trans-brake or power coming through from the engine.
